& ROBERTO CLEMENTE SCHOLARSHIP
Robert Emmett Hosty Junior’s Make Art Fund (REMAF)* is founded by the friends and family of Robert Emmett Hosty Jr. to honor his life, his dedication to the students at Roberto Clemente Community Academy and his passion for art, creativity and self-expression.
As a member of the Special Education Team at Roberto Clemente, Robert utilized his passion for art in his work with students with special needs. The teachers and staff at Clemente recognized Robert for his energetic commitment to the students he worked with, and fondly remember his frequent impromptu visits to discuss his latest strategy to motivate his students to learn and grow by expressing themselves creatively.
Robert’s dear friend and MAKE Literary Productions co-founder, Sarah Dodson, has recognized that Robert's compassion toward the students at Clemente and his enthusiasm for music, creative writing and languages has made an indelible impression on so many people and deserves to be continued. Thanks to Sarah’s leadership and the organizational support of MAKE, a legacy scholarship is being established to further Robert’s efforts to cultivate promising writers and artists.
All funds raised by REMAF will go towards the foundation of the Robert Emmett Hosty Jr. Scholarship at Roberto Clemente Community Academy. It is REMAF’s intention to award a scholarship annually to one or more students to help fund their pursuit of an education in literary and/or fine arts.
